What is Skin smoothing?

Treatments weaken muscle and in small doses, it can reduce skin wrinkles and help treat some muscle conditions.

Treatments temporarily relax the injected muscles, therefore reducing movement. This reduced movement prevents creasing of the skin, hence reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Treatments work only on the specific muscles injected, leaving surrounding muscles to function as usual maintaining normal facial expression.

It is used in areas of the face where there are dynamic wrinkles particularly on the upper face and is very effective with excellent results in smoothing out lines such as frown lines, horizontal forehead lines and crow’s feet. It can be used to prevent wrinkle developing as often prevention is better than a cure.

How long does it last?

Wrinkle reduction is noticeable in 3-5 days with full effects being achieved by 2 weeks. Results last about 3 months after which the treatment can be repeated. However this is dependent upon the person and results may vary.

What is the procedure? 

Using a very small amount via a very fine needle, to minimise discomfort, and with a knowledgeable technique, the muscles are able to relax in a controlled manner.

Is it safe?

Skin smoothing is one of the safest cosmetic procedures available. Side effects are extremely rare but can include discomfort, tingling and slight swelling at site of injections, these effects are temporary.
